The Texas Medal of Arts Awards, the signature event of the Texas Cultural Trust,
spotlights and celebrates the creative excellence, exemplary talents and
outstanding philanthropy by Texans inselected categories, ultimately featuring
the best in Texas. The Awards celebration honors these great Texans, and at the
same time is the medium to raise substantial dollars to help support arts education
initiatives and to maximize awareness of all aspects of the arts.

Charley Pride, Tommy Tune, Lyle Lovett, Robert Rauschenberg, Walter Cronkite,

Texas Cultural Trustwill celebrate the creative excellence, exemplary talents and
outstanding contributions by Texans inselected categories through the Texas Medal of
Arts Awards. Inspired by the National Endowment for the Arts’ Awards given each year
by the President of the United States,the Texas Medal of Arts Awards event is intended
to raise substantial visibility and financial support for arts education and arts
programs throughout the state. Texas Medal of Arts winners will be honored at multiple
festivities in 2011.
